About the event

This fascinating workshop looks at the survival of African American folk  practices and religion buried in Memphis history. Learn about police  raids on rootworkers, family disputes over mojo bags and a murder that  shook Memphis history. Author Tony Kail shares his fieldwork and  discoveries of Hoodoo and conjure culture through a virtual visual tour  from the streets of Memphis to the plantations of the Mississippi Delta.

This is a 120 minute foundational level lecture.
